Annual Report 2025-2026
1,100 firm audits have been performed since 2022. 90% of firms rated their audit experience above 4/5.
Firm Audit Program Since the inception of the Firm Audit Program in 2022, audits representing approximately 22% of actively registered firms have been performed. Feedback from participating firms has been overwhelmingly positive. These audits have revealed that while firms generally adhere to compliance processes, recurring issues include: • inadequate procedures to support registrants in meeting CE requirements; • inadequate maintenance of the firm’s roster and Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP); and • lack of awareness in conducting documented risk assessments in accordance with the Standard for Documented Risk Assessment and Standard for Independent Review of High-Risk Professional Activities or Work. To help support registrant firms, the firm audit team launched its second recorded webinar, “ How to Complete a Corrective Action Plan ,” to assist registrant firms in resolving corrective actions that arise from audits. Additionally, PPMP templates were updated to address missing procedures.
Firms title enforcement As of January 1, 2026, registrant firms are responsible for ensuring that restricted titles, such as “engineer” and “geoscientist,” are not used by non-registrants in violation of the PGA or Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Bylaws.
