Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Truth and Reconciliation Working Group

Our EDI and Truth and Reconciliation (EDIT&R) Working Group grew to more than 144 registrant volunteers participating in five identity-based subgroups. This group brings forward diverse perspectives, increases engagement, and identifies challenges related to EDI and reconciliation in engineering and geoscience practice. Highlights included: • Volunteers from Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s 2SLGBTQIA+ sub-group participated in a panel discussion at the EngiQueers conference, January 30 to February 2, 2026, in Vancouver.

• Members of the Neurodivergence sub-group were featured in a spring 2026 Innovation article on neurodivergence in the professions, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ sub-group contributed to a summer Innovation article on authenticity and acceptance in the workplace. • Members of the New Immigrant sub-group were invited to review our relevant International Credentials Recognition Act registration policies to ensure clarity for international applicants.
