Annual Report 2025-2026
Report from the Foundation The Engineering and Geoscience Education Foundation BC (EGEFBC) provides scholarships and bursaries to engineering and geoscience students studying in BC. It aims to encourage excellence and dedication in these fields by reducing financial barriers faced by students.
As of June 30, 2026, the Foundation received donations of $206,575 from over 1,600 individual donors and companies during the last 12 months, with $104,000 awarded to 39 engineering and geoscience students so far this year.
Donor support makes a profound difference in the lives of these future professionals. This year, the Foundation worked with the Readshaw family to establish the E.E. Readshaw Memorial Scholarship, further expanding the ability to support outstanding individuals entering the field.
The Foundation also celebrated BC Hydro’s 30th year of providing support. Additionally, Engineers and Geoscientists BC volunteers were given the option of receiving a small gift or having a donation made on their behalf to the Foundation as part of the organization’s volunteer recognition program.
Thank you to those volunteers who chose to support the next generation by donating to the Foundation.
Donations can still be made through the Engineers and Geoscientists BC website during annual registration renewal or directly through the Foundation’s website.
Following the transition to operating fully as an independent organization last year, the Foundation has focused heavily on building its own administrative infrastructure. This independence allows the Foundation to improve communications with donors, enhance fundraising efforts, streamline operations, and expand outreach initiatives.
Central to this new chapter is developing a broad fundraising strategy to realize the goal of increasing the average scholarship amount from $2,500 to $5,000. Achieving this ambitious milestone will depend heavily on the continued growth of contributions from our engineering and geoscience donor community.
