Perspectives from the Board Chair and CEO

This past year, we have continued to work alongside partners across BC and Canada to strengthen the regulatory landscape and advance our shared commitment to protecting the public and the environment.

We continue to focus on improving the overall experience for registrants, applicants, and the public. While still evolving, this work includes moving toward a more human-centred, consistent, and data-informed service model. We anticipate this approach will help reduce fragmentation and support clearer processes, better tracking, and more efficiency. Beyond service improvements, we strengthened how emerging professional practice issues are identified and prioritized for guideline and advisory development. Through a more structured, risk-based process, practice issues are evaluated with input from our advisory groups – with volunteers representing a broad range of practice areas, geographic regions, and firm sizes – to focus resources where they are needed.

Collaboration remained central to our approach through joint efforts with other regulators, engagement with government, and ongoing dialogue with registrants and industry. A key focus for us this year was responding to the growing demand for our services. We responded to the continued increases in application volumes by improving systems and processes that support our applicants – including enhancements to our application status page – and delivering improved information about our application process in support of the International Credentials Recognition Act . These efforts support our broader goal of providing more responsive, consistent, and efficient service.
