Human Rights and Diversity Guidelines Now Available APEGBC is undertaking initiatives to help members foster diverse workplace environments that welcome all members of our society and enable them to contribute to their full professional potential. The APEGBC Professional Practice Guidelines – Human Rights and Diversity clarify the association’s expectations of members and licensees and provide guidance and best practices to APEGBC professionals with respect to human rights and diversity in professional practice. APEGBC consulted with numerous individuals, organizations, and interest groups during the guidelines’ development to ensure the perspectives of individuals and industries have been heard and considered. All members are encouraged to review the practice guidelines. Download the APEGBC Professional Practice Guidelines – Human Rights and Diversity at apeg.bc.ca/news/HRDguidelines. In addition, APEGBC is hosting a seminar to help familiarise members with the guidelines, and to assist members in understanding how human rights and diversity issues apply to their professional practice. Declare Your CPD Hours for 2016 APEGBC asks members to indicate whether they have met the requirements of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guideline for the 2016 calendar year. You can complete this step on your 2017 membership renewal form or through your online member record in APEGBC’s Member Portal.

Under “Manage Professional Development,” then “Report your professional development: Compliance,” find options to declare your professional development compliance and indicate your CPD hours for 2016. Staying current on developments in their disciplines and fields of practice is key to

APEGBCmembers being best positioned to protect public safety. Adherence to the CPD guideline is recommended. By reporting compliance, members demonstrate to government and the public that public safety remains a paramount consideration in their professional practice.
