WATCH FOR OUR AD CAMPAIGN Engineers and Geoscientists BC is launching an advertising campaign to promote brand recognition of the association and its members: BC’s engineering and geoscience professionals. The campaign kicks off in March during National Engineering and Geoscience Month. The focus of the campaign is public safety, drawing a strong connection between British Columbians’ everyday peace of mind and the work that engineers and geoscientists do to make this a reality. The ads feature the new brand elements and are designed to encourage name recognition for both the professions and the association. The campaign will feature newspaper display advertising in Victoria, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, and Vancouver, as well as online. It includes advertising on lower mainland buses, and digital displays in the arrivals area of Vancouver International Airport.

National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) kicks off on March 1, 2018. During this annual month-long event, Engineers and Geoscientists BC is promoting greater public recognition of engineers and geoscientists, and encouraging youth to consider a career in our professions. We do this by celebrating our members and their achievements, and hightlighting the importance of engineering and geoscience to everyday life in British Columbia through public outreach. Throughout March, volunteers in branches around the province will be hosting local community events designed to engage the public through science exploration. These will include rock and mineral displays, popsicle stick bridge building competitions, and interactive exhibitions. The association will also be running its annual drawing contest for kids age 4-12 in partnership with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia. Entry forms will be available through the website at egbc. ca/NEGM when the contest launches in March. The association will be supporting geoscience learning through Dig Day at the Britannia Mining Museum, and organizing the Science Games, a science competition for kids in grades 1-6, at the Telus World of Science. Other activities to support National Engineering and Geoscience Month include a mail-out to local libraries and schools to share information with educators about available engineering and geoscience scholarships for students, and how to reach out to the association for a classroom presentation from one of our career awareness volunteers.
