We will increase the speed and efficiency at which applicants for registration move through the application process and improve their likelihood of achieving professional registration.

• Develop an employer accreditation program to streamline registration of professional members. • Increase support for the Mentoring program.

• Improve online functionality for the professional registration and application process so that applicants can track their progress. • Implement best practice recommendations for process improvements. • Increase member access to practice support. • Create new practice, ethics and professional development resources; promote existing materials and resources. • Provide online delivery of Law and Ethics seminar at a reduced rate. • Enhance support and availability of the Mentoring program to members and applicants. • Generate practice guidelines for non-traditional and emerging areas. • Develop and implement a brand strategy to articulate the value of P.Eng. and P.Geo. designations to potential members and stakeholders. • Increase quality management support to members and their organizations/ businesses. • Make it easier to locate and access the service of engineering and geoscience professionals through the consolidation of online directories.

We will make the registration process more trans- parent and easier to navigate.

We will support members in practising to high professional standards through increased access to professional practice support and professional development resources.

We will demonstrate the value of APEGBC to its members and potential members.

We will demonstrate the value of APEGBC and its members to employers and clients by raising the standard of practice and public protection in BC, and by helping businesses to limit their exposure to risk. We will assist government in setting public policy in matters affecting public safety. We will provide a framework for professional reliance that ensures that professionals are carrying out their work in a way that protects the public interest. We will assist in reducing barriers to the full integration of internationally trained professionals. We will work to address the gender gap in the professions.

• Continue our work with government on language assessment. • Explore alternatives for the evaluation of professional registration applications. • Increase career awareness outreach to young women and girls.

• Increase public engagement that demonstrates the value of engineers and geoscientists, and APEGBC to public matters.

We will showcase APEGBC’s relevance and raise the organization’s profile.

• Create more transparency through registration process and policy improvements. • Create more resources and mechanisms for better engagement and support of volunteers. • Limit liability through centralized financial management.

We will continue to implement best practices in governance and professional regulation.
