The Editorial Board Award was presented for the winning submis- sion “Don’t Blow it Out Your Top – Cool it!” by Jeff Besant PEng and John Lovatt PEng from the May/June 2012 issue of Innovation , and the Mentor of the Year Award was introduced and presented to Wesley Narciso PEng for his demonstrated excellence in leadership and support of future professionals. Concluding the formal recognition portion of the luncheon, outgoing Councillors Matt Cameron PEng FEC, Emily Cheung PEng FEC, Mark Porter PEng StructEng, Ross Rettie PEng FEC, and Past President Frank Denton PEng FEC were thanked for their terms of service. Derek Doyle PEng received special recognition for his contributions to the professions during his six years as CEO and Registrar of APEGBC. Outgoing president Jeff Holm PEng FEC was acknowledged for his outstanding contributions and dedication to Council as presi- dent for the 2011/2012 term.
