Declare Your CPD Hours for 2016

Agreement Supports BC’s Internationally Trained Engineers

During the membership renewal process, APEGBC asks members to indicate whether they have met the requirements of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guideline for the 2016 calendar year by checking a box on their 2017 annual membership renewal form or through the online membership renewal process.

You can also complete this step via your online member record by logging onto the APEGBC website through the APEGBC Member Portal. Under “Manage Professional Development,” then “Report your professional development: Compliance,” find options to declare your professional development compliance and indicate your CPD hours for 2016. Staying current on developments in their disciplines and fields of practice is key to APEGBC members being best positioned to protect public safety. Adherence to the CPD guideline is recommended. By reporting compliance, members demonstrate to government and the public that public safety remains a paramount consideration in their professional practice.

In September, Council renewed APEGBC’s Memorandum of Agreement with the Society of Internationally Trained Engineers of British Columbia. The MOA represents a commitment by both organisations to work together in good faith and to support each other’s goals and mandate. The organisations signed their first MOA in December 2004. The Society of Internationally Trained Engineers of British Columbia is an independent non-profit society founded in 2004 to promote using the full potential of internationally trained engineers so they can more meaningfully contribute their knowledge and skills to strengthening the Canadian economy.
