REGISTRANT INSIGHTS SURVEY

Registrants continue to express confidence

This year’s Registrant Insight Survey results show that most registrants continue to view Engineers and Geoscientists BC as an effective regulator that demonstrates accountability to the public. More than half (55 percent) of the 3,600 survey respondents rated the organization’s regulatory performance as excellent or very good, similar to last year. Strong trust in the organization remained constant, with the Trust Index shifting slightly from 80 to 79, driven by strong marks again with reliability and accountability.

Despite momentum in 2025, the proportion of registrants who found it easy to interact and communicate with Engineers and Geoscientists BC declined from 67 to 62 percent in 2026. The organization acknowledges it needs to improve its responsiveness to registrants’ phone calls and emails. The survey found that registrants support a broad range of EDI initiatives, with particular emphasis on strengthening leadership and management practices and expanding access to mentorship and career development opportunities to foster more inclusive professional environments. Registrants also expressed interest in practical tools such as case studies, webinars, and Continuing Education (CE) to support sustainability, EDI, and climate-related practice. Trust Index A key driver analysis identified the most effective areas for Engineers and Geoscientists BC to improve registrant trust and perceptions of accountability. The top driver influencing trust is having a fair and impartial process for complaints, investigations, and disciplinary decisions, followed by transparent audits, public safety efforts, and enforcement of professional standards.
