James Camsoon Hum, Surrey BC - Cancellation of Membership Mr. James Camsoon Hum was served with four Notices of Inquiry relating to four separate complaints to APEGBC involving the practice of structural and geotechnical engineering. An inquiry was convened on July 8 and 9, 2013, and the Discipline Committee issued its determination on August 12, 2013. The Discipline Committee found Mr. Hum liable in all matters and concluded his conduct was unprofessional and that he is incompetent. A hearing with respect to penalty was held on August 27, 2013 and the Discipline Committee issued an order dated September 5, 2013, cancelling Mr. Hum’s membership in the association
effective immediately . The committee also ordered that Mr. Hum: 1. Pay a penalty in the amount of $25,000 within 60 days of the date of the order; and 2. Pay costs in the amount of $64,000 within 60 days of the date of the order. The notices of inquiry, determination and order are posted on APEGBC’s website.
