Nearly half (46 percent) of those familiar with Engineers and Geoscientists BC can now correctly identify at least one of its roles, with safety regulation being the most recognized – mentions of this role have doubled since 2024. With 43 percent of the public stating that they do not know enough about Engineers and Geoscientists BC, educating the public and strengthening the reach of its initiatives will be key to improving the public’s trust in coming years. • Add more support and examples for creating Continuing Education Plans across disciplines “We appreciate the time registrants have taken to provide insightful feedback,” said Samantha Williams, Competency Program Coordinator at Engineers and Geoscientists BC. “It will continue to help us optimize our systems.” More than 40,000 registrants – or 90 percent – completed their Annual Reporting by the June 30 deadline. The reporting is important as it ensures the organization has an accurate and up-to-date database. An accessible reporting process is crucial to making that happen.

A quarter of BC residents are aware of Engineers and Geoscientists BC. The 25 percent figure is similar to the previous year’s survey results. Awareness in 2025 is highest among those living on Vancouver Island or Coastal BC (31 percent) and lowest among those who are between 35-54 years of age (21 percent). Those who are aware of the organization and understand its function give it a 79 percent trust score. Despite the public’s lower familiarity with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as an organization, 77 percent

Results from Annual Reporting follow-up survey

When registrants completed their Annual Reporting this year, more than 6,000 completed Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s follow-up survey. Results from the survey show most registrants found the process positive; more than 68 percent of respondents rated the overall reporting experience as “good” or “excellent.” To improve the annual process, registrants made the following suggestions: • Integrate continuing education systems between provinces • Provide a simpler reporting workflow with fewer clicks and steps
